Summary

Angisina scored a first place, in the race to get Angisina into the water before Memorial Day.

The full crew arrived on Friday night for a weekend of training. As with most boat projects, there were some lingering maintenance tasks that needed to get accomplished before we could splash Angisina on Saturday, including:

- Install prop
- Fair tip of keel
- Fix the port primary winch – specifically first gear
- Reattach the starboard secondary winch
- Fix the tri-color light at the masthead
- Install Batteries
- Post target boat speeds
- Post equipment – diagram
- Strip down and clean tertiary cabin top winches
- General clean-up
- Fix the main battens – Maybe a moot point!
- Install bump proof cover on chart plotter
- Lubricate traveler and jib cars
- Mark pole height(s)
- Mark existing jib with spreader patch and stanchion positions
- Replace engine water cooling strainer assembly.

These tasks went smoothly, but as Angisina settled on her lines, on Saturday afternoon, Nick and Perry discovered an engine component that needed to be replaced on Sunday morning. This gave the rest of us an unexpected chance to complete more tasks, including strip down and rebuild of the tertiary cabin top winches. Spin hoists should be blazing fast this year!

Of course there were also plenty of on-shore shenanigans, including a safety demonstration on Saturday morning with live (but expired) pyrotechnics, Valerie’s birthday, and development of Bayfield Triangle instructions: Bayfield Inn --> Rum Line --> Night Cap --> rinse and repeat.

Angisina left the dock, under her own power, around noon on Sunday. White sails up soon after that! If felt so good to back on the water! We were able to get a couple of tacks in, before the wind shut down, and we stared working on instrument calibration.

Next event is Memorial Day!
