Lise looks on as they happy boat owners celebrate during the 2010 Winter Crew Party

Neither Andy or Valerie can recall how (or why!) they got into a push-up contest at around midnight……

Crew Party at Andy and Lise’s place. Good food, great friends………and a few surprises along the way.

The extended Angisina crew of 2009 celebrate their accomplishments of the season at the WYC Banquet.

http://race.ionearth.com/2009/glss/transsuperior/# posted our track using the GPS unit from the stern.

I’m sure there is a legitimate reason. However, never let the truth get in the way of a good story……..

Saxon 09: John Slama caught this photo of Angisnia crossing the finish line, just 73 seconds behind the mighty Chewbacca! We know where we lost it, so we know we can beat’em.

Saxon 09: Gary and Valerie prepare the foredeck for the trip back to Bayfield from Saxon Harbor, as the weather forecast called for deteriorating conditions.

Saxon 09: Mike and the Voyager crew take extreme measures to ensure that Anginsina does not beat them to the race course on Sunday morning.

More Trans: Crew is hiking on the low side, as they….ahem….reflect on a slow finish.

More Trans: John starts promoting participation in the “Trans Inferior” race!

Labor Day: Angisina is tied up at Black Hawk after an exceptional day of racing on Sunday. The moonrise was a spectacular prelude to a wonderful evening of grilling, cocktails, and stories with good friends.

Labor Day: Leeward weight forward as Mike, Barnie, and Sandi try to coax the flaming flamingo to rise to the occasion.

Labor Day: The excitement that was the low-speed start to the Madeline Island Cup. It was questionable whether we would actually get off the line!

Labor Day: They say pics or it didn’t happen. It happened! The Brit Guy takes one for the team as he dives into Lake Superior to free the speed transducer under Angisina’s hull.

D-to-B: After more than a fortnight and the equivalent of two Trans Superiors, Angisina is finally tied up at Black Hawk in Bayfield.

D-to-B: Penny (aka Mom, and Mum) enjoys the cornerstone of any nutritious boat lunch.

D-to-B: perfect start with light air and smooth water.

Trans: Nick-the-Main. Need we say anything more?

Trans: The Brit guy is stressed because he just realized they drive on the wrong side here!

Trans: Syd follows a fine tradition of viewing progress through the lock from the top of the mast. Here, Syd shows the crew hard at work 60 feet below her.

Trans: Syd and the rest of the crew thoughtfully hoist pre-race lunch up the mast to Andy, via his boot. Thankfully they resisted the strong temptation to abandon him up there!

To those of you from Red Watch on the Trans, no explanation necessary.

Trans: A determined Perry pushes Angisina toward the finish line on Tuesday afternoon.

Trans: Below decks on day three. Starting to looks like a trans. Be happy they have not invented smell-o-vision yet.

Trans: All we needed was a marching band for the changing of the guard, as Corry (aka Pipes) hands the sheets to Nick-the-Main during a watch change.

Trans: Rob takes tethering to a whole new level!

Trans: Valerie proves it is possible to sleep anywhere at anytime.

Trans: Angisina waits in line for clearance to enter the Canadian locks before heading out to the start line.
