Neither Andy or Valerie can recall how (or why!) they got into a push-up contest at around midnight……

I’m sure there is a legitimate reason. However, never let the truth get in the way of a good story……..
Saxon 09: John Slama caught this photo of Angisnia crossing the finish line, just 73 seconds behind the mighty Chewbacca! We know where we lost it, so we know we can beat’em.
Saxon 09: Gary and Valerie prepare the foredeck for the trip back to Bayfield from Saxon Harbor, as the weather forecast called for deteriorating conditions.
Saxon 09: Mike and the Voyager crew take extreme measures to ensure that Anginsina does not beat them to the race course on Sunday morning.
Labor Day: Angisina is tied up at Black Hawk after an exceptional day of racing on Sunday. The moonrise was a spectacular prelude to a wonderful evening of grilling, cocktails, and stories with good friends.
Labor Day: Leeward weight forward as Mike, Barnie, and Sandi try to coax the flaming flamingo to rise to the occasion.
Labor Day: The excitement that was the low-speed start to the Madeline Island Cup. It was questionable whether we would actually get off the line!
Labor Day: They say pics or it didn’t happen. It happened! The Brit Guy takes one for the team as he dives into Lake Superior to free the speed transducer under Angisina’s hull.

Labor Day 09: Angisina has much of the fleet behind during the Madeline Cup. We eventually finished in 6th Place.

D-to-B: After more than a fortnight and the equivalent of two Trans Superiors, Angisina is finally tied up at Black Hawk in Bayfield.
Trans: Syd follows a fine tradition of viewing progress through the lock from the top of the mast. Here, Syd shows the crew hard at work 60 feet below her.
Trans: Syd and the rest of the crew thoughtfully hoist pre-race lunch up the mast to Andy, via his boot. Thankfully they resisted the strong temptation to abandon him up there!
Trans: Below decks on day three. Starting to looks like a trans. Be happy they have not invented smell-o-vision yet.
Trans: All we needed was a marching band for the changing of the guard, as Corry (aka Pipes) hands the sheets to Nick-the-Main during a watch change.
Trans: Angisina waits in line for clearance to enter the Canadian locks before heading out to the start line.
Trans Crew (clockwise from top left) Rob, John, Bill, Andy, Sam, Perry, Syd, Corry, and Valerie assemble on Angisina at Saulte Ste. Marie on the Friday before the 2009 Trans Superior. We picked Nick-the-Main up from the US side on the following morning.
Trans delivery: All the cool parties happen in the Galley (Kitchen). Hey, Renee: Is that a Mount Gay cup we spot?
Trans Delivery: Bill stand watch as Angisina is moored on the wall at Ontonagon after a rough night on Friday.
Cap'n Perry(L), Nick-the-Main(R), Mum, and Frenchie surprise the Brit guy with new Fun-o-meters ready for the Trans.
Bill Powers and Sam Trickey (right x2) were jointly awarded the Doc Sam award. The award is made to “one who has demonstrated Doc Sam’s love of sailing, love of racing, and in particular his/her persistence and “never quit” attitude during races.

Race Week rockstar main trimmer, Corry (aka Pipes) trimmed so hard, she burned a hole in her gloves.
Corry and Kelly prepare to feed the crew, with the most efficient sandwich production line ever seen in 20 knots of breeze!
For those of you looking for a mouse, the photo may be blured, but I'm sure there is one here somewhere!
Overheard on a downwind run. Val: is the kite packed? Andy: what? Val: IS THE KITE PACKED Andy: the kite’s up!
