Summary
This is the early season pilgrimage to brush off the snow, open up the boat, and attend to all those maintenance tasks that will help us go faster. Faster = increased smileage! With enough people, we should be able to complete the pre-season work list in one-weekend. This year, we need a team of engineers to assemble the grill as well. Hopefully, not BFH will be required.
It takes real work to get to the race course. This is your chance to earn that glow of satisfaction, that YOU were part of the team that got Angisina to the start line! Don't leave it to someone else. Play your part. Sign up today.
Task LIst updated:
- Fix the port primary winch
- Reattach the starboard secondary winch
- Fix the vang and backstay valves
- Rerun reef line (the one I had to cut)
- Research and post target boat speeds
- Post ratings and/or per/mile deltas of other boats within the fleet.
- Mark pole height(s)
- Mark deck and jib sheets with modes: fast forward, VMG, high point
- Mark main sheet with modes: fast forward, VMG, high point
- Add jib leach tell-tails
- Fix the grip on the main halyard clutch
- Fix the tri-color light at the masthead
- Fix the main battens
- Ease the friction in the mainsheet - easy to write, tough to achieve.Worth a try.
- Ease the friction in the outhaul - again, easy to write, tough to achieve.
- Fix the hull/side damage
- Battery - does not hold a charge.
- Anchor – find it.
- Fix the starboard courtesy light under the gas bottle – I know I broke the wire last time I changed the bottle. Did I tell you how much I hate that thing? ;-)
- Reattach the junction box for the speed transducer, under the wet locker - Long story. But, trust me: I know it needs doing.
- Create a diagram of the through hulls, fire extinguishers, and safety gear.
- Make an inventory of the “spare” safety gear (strobes, harnesses etc.)
- Reattach the port side hand hold rail in the cabin
- Tidy up the grab line through the cabin
- Find/fabricate something to stabilize the pots on the stove when under way - I know Frenchie has some low weight ideas.
- Fix the button on the chart plotter, and maybe get another cover we can cut a bump-proof hole in.
